Our sweet Mama loved life and would have lived forever if she could. She loved God, family, and her friends. She liked to work outside; rather that was gardening or cutting tress down. She was a caretaker and a giver. She would give her money if she had it, but mostly she was a giver of her time and of her heart. Everyone who met her automatically loved her. They talked of how sweet and precious she was and how she reminded them of their mom. We will miss our Mama with an almost insurmountable grief, but knowing our Mama is completely healed and worshiping at the feet of Jesus will give us comfort, as well as the legacy she left behind.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Griffin, Kaje Hasley, Josh Lewis, Art Beebe, Micah Antley, and Gene Wall. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Allen Moore, Travis Lewis, Beau Pierce, James Allen Davis, and Ryan Lewis.
My sister and I would like to thank the staff of Willis Knighton, Landmark Nursing Home and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for taking such good care of our Mama. We would like to thank Nativstate for their contributions and long bereavement period. We would also like to thank her sister and the anonymous donors who contributed to cover unexpected expenses. A very special thank you to Kenny and Glenda Griffin. They were so wonderful through all of this. From staying nights in Shreveport to making sure Mama had not only what she needed but what she wanted as well. Glenda was at Landmark almost every single day and Kenny would drop in and see her as well. Glenda was there with us when Mama passed and then Kenny came in to take care of Mama afterwards. We would not trust just anyone to care for Mama. Mama loved them as much as they loved her. Mama especially loved their babies with Lucy being her favorite. I would like to thank my sister Gabrielle for caring for Mama the way she did this past year and a half. She did all the heavy lifting, and I will never be able to show or tell her how grateful I am. I Love You Gabby.
