Services to celebrate and remember the life of Donna Jean (Lawson) Dosch will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Chelsea. Burial will follow at the Chelsea Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 3-7 with family there to receive visitors from 5-7. Donna, 68 of Chelsea, loving mother, nana, daughter, sister, and friend, was called home by her Heavenly Father on April 14, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer.
Donna was born in Imboden, AR on December 4, 1956, to Lowell Edward and Phyllis Gail Lawson (Smith). Donna enjoyed growing up with her four siblings and traveling throughout her childhood life between Arkansas, Michigan, and California. Following her move to Claremore, Donna, while barefoot, met Ken Weast in 1978. The couple later were married, moved to Chelsea, and then welcomed their sons Kenneth Jr in 1980 and Jeffrey Neal in 1984.
While the family will say both boys were super dependent upon their mother, Donna wouldn't have it any other way. Her boys were her most important people. This became more evident when Kenneth Sr passed away suddenly in September of 1987. As a young mother, Donna did odd jobs while raising her boys but always placed her career as a mother first. A gifted caretaker from a young age, Donna was able to care for and be with many of her closest friends and family members over the years, helping them and their families through their toughest times. She always was there for each and every one of them. When Donna became Nana to Zach, and later Daxton and Kason, there were no greater times for her than being with her grandsons. From the kisses to the hugs (and the gifts), she understood the value of love and time. There was never a doubt she was at her happiest when she was spending time with each one of them.
Donna is survived by her two sons: Kenny Weast of Chelsea, and Jeff Weast of Tulsa; three grandsons Zach Weast of Pittsburg, PA, Daxton Weast and Kason Weast of Chelsea; one sister Regina Pegram of Claremore; several nieces and nephews including Amy Eggebroten of Marietta, GA; and her fiercely loyal pomeranian named Ralph. She was preceded in death by her husband; father and mother; three brothers, Terry Lawson, Jim Lawson and Billy Lawson; and one sister, Kathy Laughter.
Donna's infectious smile, her compassionate heart, and her goofy sense of humor will be forever missed by all those closest to her. But the love she showed each day to every one of those close to her will live on forever. In lieu of flowers, Donna's family is asking that donations be made to the Porta Caeli Hospice House at PO Box 580460, Tulsa, OK 74158-0460 or online, in honor of her.
