A memorial service to celebrate and remember the life of Stephen F. "Steve" Radley II will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2025, at Claremore First Methodist Church. Stephen passed away in Tulsa surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 25, 2025. He was 83 years old.
Born in Wichita, Kansas on April 30, 1942, to Stephen F. and Wilburta O. (Peck) Radley. Steve was raised and educated in his birth community and graduated from Southeast High School with the class of 1960. During his high school days Steve was part of the drama class. According to his wife Sally, acting and playing different roles came very natural for Steve. On March 26, 1961, in Wichita, Kansas, Steve married the love of his life Sally Langton. Their marriage lasted for over 64 years and was gifted with 2 sons, Stephen Radley III and Jeff "Bo" Radley. Steve provided for his family owning and operating his own mobile home sales company. According to his son, Steve had a true gift of being able to consummate a sale.
A man that loved his family and took every opportunity to show that love, especially to his grandchildren. He had a unique relationship with each of them. The only caveat to that was when it came to his Golden Retriever Hope, whom his boys were quick to say he might of loved that dog more than us. Steve never missed a sporting event for his kids or grandkids, and it went without saying he was truly their biggest supporter and fan. An avid hunter and fisherman. Steve looked forward to hunting the family farm in Kansas each year. And then the annual father and son fishing trip that now included several of the grandsons and was a family tradition for over 30 years.
Steve had a few other interests and hobbies as well. He was part of the Masonic Lodge for many years. He liked to write as well as journal. He wrote a story for his great grandson "Lil Bo", as well as many letters making sure they were always signed, and all bases were covered as Steve, Dad, Papa, or Chipper (which happened to be Steve's first dog). When it came to cooking, Steve certainly knew his way around the kitchen. He wrote a cookbook and long before sliders became a household word, made Radley Little Burgers. His homemade pizza was a family favorite right along with his art of cooking steak. His gravy was another favorite, and Steve tried to make sure the recipe was handed down to his sons. No story about Steve would be complete unless you mentioned his occasional trip to the Hard Rock with wife Sally. Steve always said they left as winners, but according to family, the West Wing of the Hard Rock should be named after them.
"Life is about participating and not just breathing", this was one of Steve's quotes and it is exactly how he lived his life. He has left a legacy that will live on in the lives of his family and friends. Steve is survived by his wife Sally, sons, Stephen Radley III and wife Karen, Jeff "Bo" Radley and wife Traci, grandchildren, Will Radley and wife Brytnea, Sam Radley and wife Nicole, Sarah Litterell and husband Jake, Michael Radley and wife Savanna, Doug Radley and wife Paige, Megan Radley, Kate Lewis and husband Derek, Stephen Radley IV, great grandchildren, Bo, Shay, Olivia, Emie, Cooper, Adley, Carson, Annie, Lilly, Denver, Bennett, sister, Nancy Smith and husband Todd and their children, Scott, Doug, and Julie, and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
