Boersma Funeral HomeBeloved mother and grandmother, Donna Sue Durflinger, 60 years old, of Monon, passed on August 19, 2025, at home with her loving family around her.
On December 7, 1964, Donna was born to Vollie Jr. and Martha (Stansberry) Whitaker, in Rensselaer, Indiana. She spent her life being busy, whether it was working, raising her children, or just living life. Donna enjoyed gardening, canning, traveling, sewing, and loving on her cats.
Donna is survived by her children: Tina (Lonnie Joseph Jr.) Durflinger, Jennifer (Daniel Funke) Nee, Bruce Harvey Jr., grandchildren: Jaden Carrera, Skylor Carrera, John O’Neill, Morgan O’Neill, Alexander O’Neill, Cameron Funke, and siblings: Kathy (Rodney) Howard, Marlyn Joseph, Cindy (Rick) Byars, Pam Whitaker, Vicky Dixon, Vera Hershman, and Kim Hampton.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents: Vollie Jr. and Martha Whitaker, sisters: Lora Cox, Carolyn Whitaker, and brother: Stephen Whitaker.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 E. Grove St., Wheatfield, IN 46392. A Memorial Service for Donna will be held at 4:00 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the funeral home.
Per Donna’s wishes cremation will take place.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
