Donna C. Felt

Donna C. Felt, age 92 of Glenwood, died at home peacefully, and unexpectedly, on August 26, 2023, at the age of 92. A memorial service celebrating Donna will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Glenwood Lutheran Church with Rev. Krista Lee officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Inurnment will be in the Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Donna Claire Larson, the third of nine children born to Gunard and Katherine (MacIver) Larson, was born July 5, 1931, in Starbuck, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm in rural Cyrus where she attended St. Petri Lutheran Free Church and school in Cyrus. Donna graduated from Cyrus High School in 1949.
On June 8, 1957, Donna was united in marriage to Mervin Felt at St. Petri Lutheran Free Church in Cyrus. They made their home in Cyrus and were blessed with two children, Bruce and Diane. In 1962, the family moved to Glenwood.
From a young age, Donna worked several jobs from Minnesota to California. After raising Bruce and Diane, she started working at Johnson-Bullock Men's Clothing Store and later, Glenwood State Bank, where she worked until her retirement in 1992.
Donna was an avid sports fan. She especially enjoyed the Minnesota Twins and local Minnewaska Area High School sports, with basketball being her favorite. She loved to bake and her bars, flat bread, and lefse were enjoyed by many. She was also very talented at crocheting and quilting. Her greatest job was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Mervin Felt of Glenwood; son, Bruce Felt of St. Paul, daughter, Diane (Brian) Long of Glenwood; grandchildren, Nathan Long, Sara (Sean) Rieland, and Lindsey (Paul) Rengel; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Amelia Rieland, Ryker, Isla and Mavrik Rengel; four sisters, Marjorie Alfson, Joyce Hansen, Cheryl Larson, and Lynn Asmus; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gloria Larson and Susan Solvie; and two brothers, Charles and John Larson.
