“Sis Be Runnin”
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donna Ann Figaro, age 63, who departed this life on April 5, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born on June 10, 1961, in Georgetown, Guyana, Donna was the beloved daughter of the late Mr. Ivan John Monroe and Mrs. Eureka Una Thomas. She was a cherished sister to Noel, Courtney, and Terrence Monroe.
Donna's life was a rich tapestry of dedication, love, and purpose. A true trailblazer, she fearlessly served as a police officer in Guyana before embarking on a new chapter in the United States in 1980. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and went on to make a lasting impact in several professions, worked as a Senior Accountant for various organizations, and later became a valued trainer at GM Magna Spring Hill Seating Automotive Manufacturing. Donna was also a passionate entrepreneur, founding and operating Eve’s Trusted Cleaning Service.
A woman of deep faith, Donna was a devoted member of Living Waters Church of God in Kissimmee, Florida, where her warm spirit and compassionate heart touched many lives.
Donna was the embodiment of kindness and joy. She had a comforting smile and a heart always ready to uplift others. A true nurturer, she radiated empathy, positivity, and unwavering love—traits that made her a pillar of strength in her family and community.
In her spare time, Donna delighted in gardening—especially her whimsical fairy gardens and thriving herb patches. She found peace and energy in trail running, sharpened her mind through puzzles and Sudoku, and poured her love into the kitchen, famously making the best curry chicken. Whether hosting dinner parties or baking from scratch, she created joy with every meal.
She never met a stranger. A social butterfly and dance floor enthusiast, Donna was a charismatic storyteller and eternal optimist—known for having the perfect dance move for every song and unmatched commentary during boxing matches.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by her children: Timanda Sagon, Darrell and Keshia Figaro, and Evelyn Morris; and her adored grandchildren: Tatiana and Thalia Sagon, Loralie and Vincent Figaro. She was preceded in death by Eureka Una Thomas, Sandra Blanchard, Myrna Thomas, and Ingrid Hope.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 5:00 PM, with one hour of visitation prior to the service.
