Dublin, GA – Donna Hill Flicek, a loving wife, daughter, sister, step-mother, aunt, and friend to many passed away on December 2, 2023 after a brief but hard-fought battle with lung cancer, leaving behind a profound impact on the lives of those she touched. She was born in Harriman, Tennessee on September 2, 1956, to Bobbie Hill and John Hill, deceased.
Donna's pursuit of knowledge began in Coalfield Tennessee, where she laid the foundations of her education. She lettered four years in high school basketball having scored more than 1500 points. Donna graduated in 1974 as her class Valedictorian and furthered her academic journey at Knoxville Business College. After graduation, she began a 33-year career at the Y-12 National Security Complex. After retirement from Y-12, Donna worked for two years at the American Centrifuge Project in Oak Ridge.
Donna and her husband of 27 years, Charles W. (Bill) Flicek of Augusta Georgia, retired to their home in Dublin, Georgia in 2010 to enjoy the fruits of their successful careers.
Donna's passing is deeply mourned by all who knew her: survivors include her husband,: Charles W. Flicek, her mother, Bobbie Hill, her sister, Terri Hall, two step-daughters, Kara Flicek Webb and Kelli Flicek Walker, granddaughter, Sophie Louise Walker, nephew and niece Wes Hall and Stefanie Monroe, both of whom she thought of as her very own children, great niece and nephews Eva, Leo, and Jacob Monroe, special cousin Greg and Michelle Coker, dear friends David and Cheryl Goforth, uncle and aunt, Mack and Janie Hill, and many other dear cousins and extended family members.
Donna's memory will be cherished by her family and friends as they reflect on the extraordinary woman she was-a devoted professional, a loving wife and step-mother, aunt/Gada, sister, daughter, and a caring friend.
Per Donna's wishes, she will be cremated and decline a formal memorial service. The family would very much appreciate your condolences be made via the Jackson Funeral Home tribute wall.
