Donna Geis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farewell Funeral Service - Palm Bluffs on Jan. 13, 2026.
Donna Mae Geis, age 90, of Fresno, CA, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025. She was born in Lincoln, NE on May 22, 1935, the first daughter of Merle and Leona Stainbrook. She graduated from high school and married Michael Joseph Geis, June 25, 1954. They lived in Lincoln, NE until July, 1964, when they chose to open his insurance agency moving with their six children to Fresno, CA. She was devoted to him for 58 years until his passing on August 17, 2012.

Donna had played the organ and did some secretarial work for St. Mary's Church before marriage. She did not work outside of the home, unless assisting her husband, until her children were raised. Our dad claimed she spent all her earnings on candles when working at the Jack Be Nimble shop. She earned her home health aide certification and later volunteered at St. Agnes Hospital holding babies. Donna and Mick loved family events, fun times with friends, golf, NE & Fresno State football, boating, RVing and overall traveling. She is remembered for her sense of humor, green thumb, and her love of her family.

She is survived by her two sisters and spouses of Lincoln, NE: Marcia and Myron Carkoski and Vicki and Ken Stark; children: Pam Geis; Laurie & Larry Paris; Kim & Bill Bunch; Michael M. & Lynn Geis of Las Vegas, NV; Gregory & Claudia Geis; Mark Geis and fiance Maria. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

At her request, a private burial will be held family and close friends.
