Donna Gerlach Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moreland Funeral Home - Westerville from Oct. 9 to Oct. 10, 2021.
Donna Burdge Gerlach lost her recent battle against cancer. Though as a sports fan she would likely want it known she beat cancer three times prior. Donna joins her beloved husband, William in the great beyond. The memory of her laugh and skeptical looks will be remembered by her daughters, Ene-Kathryn Hartnagel and Cecilie Read; her sister, Mary Jane Berise; her grandsons, Brendan Hartnagel, William Read and Henry Read as well as her many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, family and a multitude of friends. Donna graduated from The Ohio State University and was one of the biggest OSU football fans ever. She was a loyal sister of Gamma Phi Beta. She proudly worked for the social security administration for many years. She was a loving and wise mother, wife and friend. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to The James - OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Such good memories of my very first college roommate and later sorority sister. When my mom moved to Columbus and I would come to visit I would always stop in for an afternoon chat or dinner out in the evening. We had such good times talking about our families and, of course, politics! I will remember you forever.

From your first college roommate and sorority sister, I want you to know how happy I am that we got to visit all those times when I visited my mom in Columbus. I always looked forward to our afternoon chats or dinners out together. I will miss you and I do.
