Donna Marie Gilbert, a lifelong resident of Waymart, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on August 6, 1960, Donna was the beloved daughter of the late John R. Rollison and Marie N. Rollison (Smith).
Donna dedicated her career to caring for others as a nurses' aide before her retirement. Outside of her work, she cultivated a life rich in the things she cherished most: her beautiful gardens, her beloved animals, and above all, her family. Donna was known for her infectious sense of humor and her deeply caring nature, always extending warmth and compassion to everyone she knew.
She is survived by her devoted husband, James R. Gilbert, and her loving children: Crystal Boehmer and her husband Ralph Boehmer, Angela Lahr and her husband Josh Thomas, Gary Lahr, and Erica Gilbert. Donna leaves behind a cousin, Debbie Merritt, and a sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Bernadette O'Connell, Chester O'Connell, Dianna and Joe Fenwick, Lourdes and Donald Rousseau, Cherie Gilbert, Paul Gilbert and multiple nieces and nephews. Also, her adopted sister Denice Rauschmeier and her family: David, Steven, Nicole, and Dylan. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Hailey Boehmer, RJ Boehmer, Laylah Epstein, Skylar Horst, Zadie Thomas, Seth Thomas, Carrie McMillen, Mathew Szwajkowski, Nichole Partin, Marceline Partin, and Jessica Thomas.
She was preceded in death by Sue Theobald, Bobby Gilbert, Steve Gilbert, Jody Gilbert, Jordan Gilbert, Stacie Oconnell, and Chester Oconnell.
Donna's presence will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, who will forever remember her laughter and the boundless love she shared.
Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 5-7 PM at the Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc., Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.
Following cremation, interment will be in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners at the convenience of the family.
