Donna Marie Herthum, 88, of New York Mills, passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Utica, she was the daughter of Charles and Isabelle Nutter and a graduate of Whitesboro High School.

On June 21, 1958, Donna married George E. Herthum. Together, they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Their bond was a beautiful example of lasting partnership and mutual respect.

Donna was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took immense pride in her growing family. She is survived by her husband George; children Debbie (Eric) Hamblin, Charles (Lori) Herthum, and Bill (Jennifer) Herthum; her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Retta Herthum; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Dimbleby Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Whitesboro, with interment at Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care at 4277 Middle Settlement Rd, New Hartford NY 13413, or to the New York Mills Schools at 1 Marauder Blvd, New York Mills NY, 13417, checks made payable to the New York Mills School, care of the Herthum Foundation - supporting two annual scholarships to members of the graduating class, and the Annual Kindergarten Arbor Day tree plantings.
