Donna Jean Foster Ison, age 91, of Cranston Road, Morehead, went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 9, 1934, in Carlisle, Kentucky. Donna lived a long and blessed life rooted in faith, family, and love. She was a devoted Christian whose gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and kind heart touched all who knew her.

Donna was the heart of her family, raising four children with love and wisdom, and delighting in her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was her greatest joy, and she often reminded everyone that love and togetherness were the most important gifts in life. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and plenty of room at the table for anyone who needed a place to belong. Her legacy of love, resilience, and devotion will continue through her children, grandchildren, and all whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvan Foster and Minnie Lou Ritchie Foster; two sons, Michael S. Ison and Eddie A. Ison; one grandson, Matthew Gregory Ison, one brother, Roy Cecil Foster; two sisters, Elsie Burchett and Louise Coyle; and one daughter-in-law, Joy Brigner Ison.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Rev. Cecil Edward Ison, whom she married on February 23, 1952; her daughter, Sandra Lynn Ison Plank; her son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Anita Ison, all of Morehead; nine grandchildren, Jacqueline Lucas (Rodney), Toby Ison (Paige), Nicolette Kuzman, Miranda Lyons (Steven), Zachary Ison (Hannah), Samantha Ison, Shane Ison, Caleb Ison (Keisha), and Cortlin Pennington (Dakota); twenty cherished great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Thelma Faye and James Ford of Owingsville; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Ginn Ison and Carol Loper Ison, both of Morehead; along with several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends.

A devoted homemaker, Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was faithful member of Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God, where she worshipped, served, and made lifelong friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Nickell and Pastor Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers: Caleb Ison, Zachary Ison, Shane Ison, Toby Ison, Dakota Pennington, and Rodney Lucas.

Honorary pallbearers: Jacqueline Lucas, Nicolette Kuzman, Miranda Lyons, Samantha Ison, Cortlin Pennington, Eva Henderson, Rita Lewis, Sharon Reynolds, and Robin Robinson.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.

The family would like to thank Helen, Denny, and John along with the Northcutt & Son staff for their compassion and support. They are also deeply grateful to their church family and UK-St. Claire Home Health staff.
