Merrillyn (Lyn) Ison
June 8, 1965 — September 5, 2025
Merrillyn (Lyn) Ison was born June 8, 1965 in Bremerton, WA. She was raised and lived in Kitsap County most of her life. As the baby of the family, she spent her early years with her parents, Merrill Ison and Joyce Ison-Angel and siblings Debbie, Donna, Dale, and Dorene. She attended Haddon Elementary, Coontz Junior High, and West High School in Bremerton. Lyn worked a variety of different jobs as an adult including as a construction flagger and professional cleaner.
Lyn enjoyed spending time with family. A good meal at a diner (especially if it included a milkshake!) was a perfect day for her. She loved each and every one of her pets, with a special place in her heart for her cat, Booster. While she struggled with mental and physical health challenges throughout her life, Lyn worked hard to overcome those as much as possible and lived her life on her own terms.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her siblings Debbie (Chris) Lemke, Donna (Rick) Martin, Dale (Ruth) Ison, and Dorene Ison, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Thank you to everyone that supported Lyn throughout her life. We want to extend our sincere appreciation to the staff at St. Michael Medical Center - Silverdale, the staff at Salvation Army in Bremerton that cared for her, her payee, and the staff at Kitsap Mental Health while she was in their care. Your kindness and compassion helped her loved ones know that she was safe.
