Donna Frey Johnson, born on September 18, 1963, in Marysville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on October 22, 2025, in Galloway, Ohio. She is lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, caring mother, cherished sister, and dear friend to many.
For 29 years, Donna dedicated her career to being a triage medical assistant at COPCP (Riverside Pediatrics). Her ability to connect with families and help parents of patients was one of her proudest accomplishments. She brought a tender-hearted reliability to her work, and it was evident how much she cared about the people she served. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed working as a travel agent, where she loved the challenge of planning family trips and finding that perfect getaway for those she assisted.
Education was important to Donna, who graduated from Jonathan Alder High School in 1981 and went on to become a graduate of Columbus Paraprofessional in 1995. She was someone who deeply valued knowledge and personal growth.
Donna's loving personality shone brightly in all aspects of her life; she was a selfless individual who had a heart of gold. She was deeply committed to her family, and her love for them was boundless. Her husband of 26 years, Edward, and their two sons, Jarrod and Caleb, were the lights of her life. She embraced the role of the only woman in the house with grace and patience, always putting her family first. Donna was known for being a second mother to her sons' friends, offering warmth and guidance to all who entered her home.
The memories made with her family are treasures that will forever remain in their hearts. Donna created special moments through concerts and Broadway shows with her sons and lively comedy shows with Ed. She cherished her time spent outdoors, whether it was on camping trips, hiking at state parks, or simply enjoying the serene beauty of lakes and beaches, including Rehoboth Beach in Delaware, Virginia Beach, and Daytona Beach.
In addition to her family, Donna's life was enriched by her loyal friends. Known for her frugality and gift for finding good deals, she had a vibrant social life and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and charitable spirit endeared her to all who were lucky enough to know her.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; her sons, Jarrod and Caleb; her sister, Susan (Greg) Garrett; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry her legacy of love and compassion forward.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Edward and Barbara (Sterling), whose love and teachings shaped her into the caring and nurturing person she became.
Though our hearts ache with her loss, the impact of Donna Frey Johnson's love and kindness will echo in the lives of all she touched. She leaves behind a beautifully rich tapestry of memories, woven with laughter, love, and a spirit that will never be forgotten.
