Donna Mae (Kohler) King, Williams - 92 of Seneca Mo. Passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Friday September 15th at her home In Seneca MO.
Donna was the 1st of 3 children, she was born on January 30, 1931 In Minneapolis Minnesota, to Theodore (Ted) Kohler and Irene (Tutty) Kohler.
Growing up Donna attended schools in Minneapolis Minnesota, Chicago Illinois, and Sand Point Idaho. However Seneca Mo was where she graduated from in 1949.
While in high school, Donna was a cheerleader and her parents owned a little place called T&J's truck stop . This is where Donna met her husband, Daryl (short) King. The two were married on April 15, 1952 In Joplin Mo.
Being the Social light Donna was, she was a very active member of "The Business & Professional Woman's Organization" (B.P.W.), She was a Member of the Seneca Study Club, snd she became a Ordained Elder in the Community of Christ (RLDS) Church in Dec of 1995 after being a priest since 1988.
Donna Hobbies included: Camping, Being a Church camp counselor, Music leader, Sunday School Teacher, Youth director, Fishing , Having a house full of Friends (almost every weekend) to play Canasta, Plays, Music concerts. Donna Loved Singers/dancers like Perry Como, and Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, Doris Day. Growing up her dream was to be a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall.
Donna's first job was in her parent's cafe T&J's truck stop. This job was followed by the Rex-all drug store in Seneca, Lincoln Mercury of Joplin (car Lot), and LP Gas company of Seneca (propane supplier) then her last job was that of a Secretary at West View School district of Neosho/Seneca Mo.
Donna and Short adopted 3 children, In 1965 the adopted Kevin King, and in 1968 they rounded out their family with the adoption of Barbie and Jerri.
Donna was proceeded in death by her parents Ted and Irene Kohler, 2 husbands, Daryl (short) King, James (Jim) Williams, her son Kevin King, sister Bonita (Bonnie Kohler) Scarberry, grandson Kerg Severson, Great granddaughter Sydnee Humphries, Nephew Ryan Kohler and Niece Kimberly Crawford.
She is survived by Daughter Barbie Severson of Joplin Mo., Jerri King and Lori Gilbert of Seneca Mo., Grandsons Andrew (Andy) & wife Carrie Snider of Neosho Mo., Aaron Snider of Neosho Mo., David Churchwell of Ozark Mo., William (Will) Elliott Japan, and Grand Daughters Ashley (Snider) & JJ Humphries of Neosho Mo., and Natasha Elliott of Seabeck Washington. Her brother Warren Kohler and wife Joyce and Numerous Great-grand children nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:30pm to 12:45pm at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
Graveside services at the Seneca Cemetery will be at 1:00pm with David Scarberry officiating.
