Donna M. Klasson

Donna Marie Klasson was born on February 1, 1941, to Esther and Knut Klasson in Portland, Oregon, the eldest of two daughters. She was baptized in her childhood home and confirmed at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in 1956. She attended school in Portland, Oregon and graduated from David Douglas High School in 1959. Her professional career involved data entry and spanned the years from punch cards to electronic storage. She worked many years at PacifiCorp/Pacific Power and Light and later in pharmacy data entry for Kaiser Permanente. Her employers were thankful for her efficient and accurate completion of her tasks.
Donna and her sister, Dianne, were companions throughout their lives. They were active participants at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, enjoyed attending concerts and plays, and traveled many places. Donna even traveled to Sweden to explore the land of her ancestors.
In retirement, she especially valued time with her friends, often enjoying food and fellowship at Heidi's restaurant in Gresham. She loved to tell stories so that laughter could be shared.
Her beloved sister, Dianne, pre-deceased her in 2016. Donna is survived by her "church family" at Holy Cross, other friends and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on September 8, 2024, during morning worship at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 8705 E. Burnside St., Portland, OR 97216. Worship begins at 10:30 am. A reception following worship at about 11:45 am will allow a time for sharing memories.
