Donna Krumrine Obituary

Donna R. Krumrine

March 31, 1928 - March 8, 2025

Largo, Florida - Donna R. Krumrine, 96, of Largo, Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Sabal Palms Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on March 31, 1928, in Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Rimmey) Roush. On January 1, 1950, she married her beloved husband, Robert Krumrine, who preceded her in death on October 25, 2009, after sharing 59 years of marriage together.

Donna was a 1946 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. After graduating from high school, she worked for Penn State University, ultimately leaving that position in 1951 to raise her daughter. During that time, she held various part time jobs. She began working full-time for Centre County Vocational Technical Schools and remained there for several years. Her last place of employment was the Pennsylvania Fish Commission as an Executive Assistant for the Director, Bureau of Engineering where she retired after 17 years of service.

She was also a proud member of the Board of Trustees that was instrumental in the creation of The Oaks, a retirement village in Pleasant Gap.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane DiMaio, and her husband Michael, of Largo, Florida, two grandchildren, Robert Curry (Gina) and Allison Curry, both of Tampa, and two great grandchildren, Davis and Reese Curry.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Roush, and sister, Joan Armstrong.

Before moving to Florida to be closer to family, Donna was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pleasant Gap. She was an accomplished seamstress, loved flowers and tending to her garden. She was known for her beautifully kept flower boxes, usually full of red and white geraniums in the summer. She also enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. Donna never met a stranger; she could strike up a conversation with just about anyone wherever she was. She was a loyal Penn State football fan, and after moving to Florida even became a Tampa Bay Lightning hockey fan!

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 160 N. Main Street, Pleasant Gap. Funeral services will begin at noon, at the church, with Pastor Laura Waltermire officiating. Burial services will immediately follow at Pleasant Gap Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donna's memory to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 160 N. Main Street, Pleasant Gap, PA 16823.
