Donna Marie (Warren) Lyon was healed and made whole on July 23, 2024 as she entered the gates of heaven. She spent her last days at home surrounded by her loving family and passed peacefully in her sleep.
Donna was born on May 18, 1959 to Bobbie Sue (Ferrell) Hixson and Thomas James Warren in Waco, Texas. Donna met the love of her life, Clifton Lyon, while working at Certain-teed glass plant. They fell in love and were married almost 40 years. They built a good life together, raised a beautiful family.
Aside from Clif and their children and grandchildren, Donna loved her cats, all those dang cats (hundreds over the years) as well as her dogs and birds. She also loved people deeply and spent her life caring for others. From many years working at Hillcrest in various positions, to a short time at Merry Maids, and then as a home health caregiver, Donna had a heart for serving others. Even in her later life when she was no longer working, she was always helping someone with their home, driving them back and forth to doctor appointments and procedures, and even running errands.
Donna was an adventurer who loved to travel and experience life from hot air ballooning to white water rafting. She enjoyed the outdoors (especially their backyard), could make any plant grow, and took joy in watching the birds and squirrels.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by husband Clifton Lyon, daughter Jessica Roberts and husband David, son Jason Motycka and fiancée Anna Michael, son Thomas Lyon, son Jason Lyon, grandchildren Dylan Lowrey and wife Kat, Shelby Roberts, Riley Roberts, Jade Robbins, Whitney Motycka, Lillie Motycka, Olivia Lyon, Valerie Lyon, Natalie Lyon, George Lyon, Kaylee Lyon, River Maxson, India Michael, and great-granddaughter Collette Roberts. She is also survived by brother Michael Warren, sister Debbie Iiams and husband David, sister Tamara McClanahan and husband Glenn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memories and condolences can be left on the obituary at the funeral home website.
