Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory on Feb. 17, 2026.
Jimmy Lyon, 25, of Montfort, Wisconsin, passed away on February 15, 2026, in Dubuque, from cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 19067 Calonder Road, Durango, Iowa.

Jimmy was born on February 1, 2001, in Brainerd, Minnesota, the son of Jim Lyon and Jill Anderson. He graduated from Hempstead High School in 2019 and from the John Deere Tech Program at NICC Calmar in 2021. Jimmy last worked at Sloan Implement in Montfort and Bloomington, Wisconsin, as an AMS and Product Support specialist.

He previously worked at Soules Family Farms in Arlington, Iowa; Bodensteiner Implement in Dyersville; and Drive Line in Dubuque.

Jimmy was a member of the Ultimate Panfish League and the Madison Bass Club. In high school, he was also a member of the Hempstead Trapshooting Team. He loved fishing, farming, and all things John Deere. Jimmy was always on the go and lived every day to the fullest. He fully believed in the "work hard, play hard" way of life. Jimmy had a huge heart and cared deeply about all people.

Jimmy is survived by his mom and dad; sisters, Berkley (Justin) Scherf, Kenzie (Brett Klaas) Lyon, and Sydney (Jonathan Tienter) Lyon; nephew and niece, Sawyer and Coralie Scherf; Grammy Pat Anderson; paternal grandmother, Kristen; and uncles, Jordan and Jeff Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and his paternal grandfather and grandmother.

Memorials may be sent to Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, Iowa 52003, in Jimmy's name.

The family would like to thank all of Jimmy's family and friends for sharing their "Jimmy" stories. Thank you as well to the University of Iowa Children's Hospital and Hospice of Dubuque.
