Ms. Donna Rachel Stevens McGriff was born November 18, 1970, in Lancaster, South Carolina to the union of Richard Lee Nelson and Melvina Stevens. Donna went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Donna accepted Christ in her life at an early age and was united with the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Lancaster, SC., She was educated in the Lancaster County School System.

After she relocated to Nashville she found a church home with Boyce Street Missionary Baptist Church.

Donna was a stay-at-home mom for 20 years dedicating her life to her family. She loved to sing and entertain friends and family, hosting many gatherings.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Melvina Stevens and Richard Lee Nelson, children, Shameka Stevens and Jonathan McGriff, siblings, Ricky, Steve and John Stevens and Richlen Benson.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Andray Stevens, Doneeshyua McGriff, Poricha Tharpe(Xavier Tharpe), Delmaine Cunningham(Crystal-Jordan Cunningham), bonus daughter, Shauntanique Counts-Ferguson, grandchildren, Arianna, Kemarri, Ka’Dyn, Darren and Kamryn McGriff, Janee, Xaelynn and Xavier Tharpe Jr., Kyhlan Stevens, Kaydance Ryman and Javaeh Cunningham, siblings, Micheal Stevens, Jessica Stevens, Lawanda Stevens, Lisa Stevens, Delores Nelson, Rachel Nelson, Richard Lee Nelson, Jr., Dontae Nelson, Mario Nelson and a host of Aunts uncles,nieces, nephews, Family and friends.
