Donna Hewes Mohr, 65, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, at Lancaster General Hospital. She shared 43 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Mark S. Mohr, with whom she shared a deep and enduring love, until his passing in 2024.
Born in Lancaster, Donna was the daughter of the late Thomas G. and Gloria Anne (Pennock) Hewes. She graduated from Lampeter Strasburg High School in 1978, and Willow Street Vo-tech where she studied to be a dental assistant. Donna worked as a dental assistant for five years for Jere Eshelman, DDS, and continued assisting as needed over the years.
A devoted homemaker, Donna centered her life around raising her four children in faith and love, creating a home filled with presence, purpose, and joy in Paradise, and later Gap. Donna was often found cheering on her children at their sporting and musical events and later did the same for her grandchildren. While at Lampeter-Strasburg, she participated in gymnastics, which later became a joyful bonding activity with her young grandchildren.
Mark and Donna enjoyed weekend getaways to their cabin along the Susquehanna near Holtwood, a place that held special meaning for the family.
Donna worshiped for many years at Keystone Church in Paradise, where she led prayer meetings, taught children's Sunday school, and helped in the nursery. More recently, she attended Grace Community Church in Willow Street.
Donna longed for the day she would be reunited with her beloved husband, Mark. After faithfully caring for him through his cancer journey, her own health declined due to living with Parkinson's disease. Her family finds comfort in knowing they are now reunited and rejoicing together in heaven.
Donna's family includes her children: Anne Adams (Taylor), Yvonne Specht (Shane), Luke Mohr (Victoria), and Isaac Mohr (Hadassah);12 grandchildren: Carter, Brooklyn, Makenzie, Halle, Hayes, Beckham, Cianna, Charles, Bennett, Lucy, Nathan, and Judah; her siblings: Debra Ashby (Ron), T. Gary Hewes, II (Mary), Essie Hewes-Carroll, and Bonnie White (John); and her mother-in-law Gertrude Mohr.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by her brother Marty Hewes.
