Donna Kay Easley Moore, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 17, 2024, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Donna Kay was born November 13, 1951, in Houston Mississippi to Donald and Mary Sue Clark Easley. She was affectionately known as DK, Gran, Aunt Kay, and Nonna. She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family and friends who were always entertained by her stories and phone calls. She loved life and enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She spent the last few years at Creekside Assisted Living enjoying Farkle, Bingo (mainly winning prizes) and visiting with her friends there. You could find her watching westerns (especially Gunsmoke) and drinking diet Dr. Pepper.
The best years of her life were spent with the love of her life, Bill Moore, whom she married on December 10, 1976 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were married 36 years until his death on October 16, 2012. Donna Kay owned and operated The Wishing Well Gift Shop in Houlka and later she and Bill owned and operated the Jump and Grab convenience store in Houlka. Donna Kay loved to garden and grow flowers. She was always a sun-lover and beach-lover. She was a wonderful mother to her children and bonus mother to their many friends who always felt welcomed and loved by her. She was the type of mother that her children could tell anything without fear of being judged or unheard. She was easy to love and the life of the party. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.
She graduated from Houlka High School in 1969 where she was voted Miss Houlka High and Most Beautiful. She was a starting guard on the 1969 girls' basketball team which was the first Wildcat girls' team to advance to the Mississippi State Championship tournament. Her memory will be cherished by the members of the Class of 1969 and her life-long friends-Kathy Davis, Peggy Fitts, Annette Simmons, Thelma Davis, Ginger and Jimmy Lynn McClain. She was a life-long member of the Houlka First Baptist Church where she was baptized in 1969.
