Carol A. Moore, 83, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at the Francis Georgeson Hospice House.
Born on September 14, 1942, in Wabash, Indiana, Carol was the daughter of the late Virgil D. and Berniece (née Scott) Weaver. She had been a resident of Naples since 1992, having moved from Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Due to complications from birth, Carol spent much of her early life at the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Chicago, where she remained until age 15. She graduated from Noble Township High School with the Class of 1960 and went on to work for a short time at a non-profit publishing company in the Chicago area.
In her twenties, Carol faced significant health challenges that led to a leg amputation, which forced her to stop working. She returned to Wabash to live with her parents for several years before the family relocated to Chattanooga in 1971. Carol made her home there until 1992, when she moved to Florida to be near her sister.
Later in life, Carol discovered her passion for writing poetry. She found great joy and purpose in her creative expression, eventually publishing a book that beautifully captured both her poems and her life story.
Carol is survived by her loving sister, Dawn E. Bobay, and her husband, Carlos, of Naples, FL; her niece, Cailey Fuentes, and her husband, David, of Naples, FL; her nephew, Christopher Combs of Naples, FL; her great-nephew, Jordan Tucker; and her great-niece, Ava Fuentes. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Moore.
Funeral services for Carol will be held at the Winkler Road Baptist Church in Fort Myers at a future date.
