Mary Ellen Long

Mary Ellen Long, 66, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, after an extended illness.
Mary Ellen was born on August 2, 1959, in Waukegan, Illinois, a daughter of the late William and Mary (née Scheller) Clark. She moved to Bonita Springs, Florida, in 1974 from Zion, Illinois, where she attended Zion Benton High School. After relocating to Florida, she continued her education at Naples High School, graduating before earning her bachelor's degree from St. Leo College.
Mary Ellen began her professional career at Bentley Village in Naples, Florida, where she dedicated over 40 years as the lead server in the food service department. She was admired by colleagues and residents alike for her dedication, kindness, and warm spirit.
In her spare time, Mary Ellen found joy in knitting, sewing, and reading, pursuits that reflected her gentle and creative nature.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael F. Long and his wife Michelle L. Long, Thomas W. Long, and Andrew J. Long, all of Fort Myers, FL; and by her two beloved granddaughters, Londyn G.N. Long and McKenzie G. Long. She is also survived by her two sisters, Elizabeth A. Adducci and her husband, James D. Adducci, of Riverwood, IL. and Patricia S. Clark of Bonita Springs, FL
A memorial service to celebrate Mary Ellen's life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs, FL. Inurnment will follow.
