Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather

LOWELL- Robert T. Burns, "Bob", passed away, after declining health, on Monday, February 10, 2026. Bob was married to Jacqueline "Jackie" (Giguere) Burns, the love of his life, for 56 years. Bob was born in Lowell on April 14, 1946 to Joseph and Hazel (Rowe) Burns. He was raised in Lowell and educated in the Lowell school system. Bob retired after being a foreman at Baker Commodities (Corenco) for 50 years. He was dedicated to his work and was known for being a very hard worker. Bob and Jackie raised their two children in Lowell and were proud communicants of Sacred Heart Church, now Holy Family Parish. When Bob wasn't working or spending time with his family, he enjoyed playing cards, especially 45s and Blackjack, and he loved Cribbage and scratch tickets. He could also be found on a golf course or by the water fishing. Bob loved holidays with his family, cookouts, and he was well known for his sweet tooth for chocolate. For twenty years he and his family traveled to Old Orchard Beach for their annual vacation. This trip was very special to Bob. He also loved taking trips to Las Vegas.

In addition to his beloved wife, Jackie, Bob is survived by his children, Robert Burns, Jr. and his husband Michael Andrade of Mendon, MA and Robin (Burns) Lajoie and her husband Lawrence of Hampstead, NH; his grandchildren Nicholas Burns of Lowell, Matthew Burns of Mendon, Ethan and Hannah Lajoie of Hampstead, NH and great grandchild Joy Collins of Lowell; sister Kathy (Burns) Bateman of Dracut, sister-in-law Debbie Burns of Bonita Springs, FL; several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. Bob was the brother of the late Richard Burns, Joseph Burns, Maureen (Burns) Farmer, and Sharon (Burns) Beckwith.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND BOB'S CALLING HOURS ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2026, FROM 4 UNTIL 7 PM AT THE FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL. BOB'S FUNERAL WILL BEGIN ON WEDNESDAY MORNING AT 9 AM FROM THE FUNERAL HOME FOLLOWED BY HIS FUNERAL MASS AT 10 AM AT HOLY FAMILY PARISH-ST. MARIE'S CHURCH, CORNER OF CHAMBERLAIN AND GRAFTON STS. LOWELL. HIS BURIAL WILL FOLLOW AT ST. JOSEPH CEMETERY, CHELMSFORD.
