Thomas Francis Judas Tiger Torp, 81, passed away on February 6, 2026, in
Bonita Springs, Florida. Born on May 20, 1944, in
Greenfield, Wisconsin, Tom lived a life marked by hard work, deep love for his family, and an infectious zest for life.
Tom grew up on a farm in Institute, Wisconsin, where the values of perseverance and dedication were instilled in him from an early age. After graduating high school, he moved to Milwaukee and attended masonry school. It was there that he discovered his talent and passion for building-skills that would shape the rest of his life.
A master mason with a keen eye for craftsmanship, Tom founded T&T Masonry, a business he took great pride in. His entrepreneurial spirit didn't stop there; he also launched Opportunity Homes and went on to build numerous Wausau homes throughout the Lake Country area. His work left a lasting mark on the communities he served and reflected his commitment to quality and integrity.
Tom's personal life was as rich as his professional one. He shared many years with his first wife Kathy McCoy, with whom he had six children. Later in life, he found companionship and joy with his longtime partner Barbara Mundell.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Tamara Thomas (Kevin),Thomas Torp, Troy Torp, Angela Goergen, Katie Pedretti (Scott), and Tracie Wasley. His grandchildren, Tanya Murn (Michael), Breanna Murn (Joe), Chance Thomas (Hayley), Jessica Torp, Nick Goergen (Steph), Hannah Goergen, Emma Goergen, Jacob Goergen, Seth Torp (Adriana), Wolfgang Wasley, Rhiannon Wasley, Donato Guerra, Audric Pedretti; and ten great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Reagan, Sutton, Hayden, Evelyn, Lucia, Adaline, Madison, Banks, Elliot and Ramsey May.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Jess and Viola Torp and siblings Richard, Robert, Jeannie, Annie, Jerry and James Walter.
A man of many passions beyond his work-Tom loved tennis, running, biking, cooking and swimming. He cherished time spent outdoors and found peace in gardening. He had a special fondness for picking flowers-especially lilacs and roses-and rarely wore shoes by choice long before "grounding" became popular. His mornings were legendary among his children-waking up to Johnny Cash playing in the background and the smell of bacon filling the house.
Tom's sense of humor was unmatched; his unique blend of charm and wit made him unforgettable to all who knew him. He embraced each day with gratitude-marveling at every sunrise and sunset-and brought laughter wherever he went.
His memory will live on through the lives he touched-with every blooming rose bush or echo of Johnny Cash reminding us of the man who truly loved life to its fullest.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 23, 2026 at tbd
