Donna G. Moore, age 70, of Fox Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 26, 2025, shattering the hearts of all who loved her. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, on Monday, April 25, 1955, Donna was the beloved daughter of James and Nell (Crockett) Moore. On March 15, 2015, she married the love of her life and soulmate, Gennie Nowicki.
Donna proudly served in the United States Army, earning the rank of Sergeant. She specialized in helicopter repair and served with honor until her discharge in 1981. Her service reflected the strength and determination she carried throughout her life.
A devoted Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, which always brought a smile to those who knew her passion for the game. She loved playing all kinds of games, but nothing came close to her love for Candy Crush-she was truly unstoppable.
Donna had a heart of gold. She cherished her many nieces and nephews and was a deeply loved godmother to Amanda. Her love for travel was second only to her love for sunshine-especially trips to Clearwater, Florida, with Gen always by her side. Beach or pool, it didn't matter-if there was water and relaxation, Donna was at her happiest.
The true joy of her life was her loyal and loving companion, "Ditka," affectionately known as "Little Man." The bond they shared was unbreakable and a constant source of joy.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone- a part of us went with you- the day God called you home.. Until we meet again, we will carry your memory in our hearts.
Survived by her adoring wife, Gen; sisters, Barbara (Bill) Wenzel, Betty (Mark) Klym; many nieces and nephews, and "Ditka".
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home, 8103 Wilmot Road, Spring Grove, IL.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, Wisconsin immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials to St. Jude’s at https://www.stjude.org or Save-A-Pet, Inc. at www.saveapetil.org would be greatly appreciated by the family. For additional information, please call the funeral home at 815-675-0550.
