Donna Lynn Nead, age 79, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, with her family by her side.
Donna was born in Nyack, New York, to the late Douglas and Dorothy Zabriskie. She grew up in Northvale, New Jersey, and later made her home in Marlboro, New York, before relocating to Colorado. She worked for Lloyd’s Supermarket in Newburgh prior to beginning a long career in the financial industry, serving at several banks and retiring from Ford Credit.
Affectionately known as “Mothbawls,” Donna treasured life’s quieter moments. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, knitting, and playing games—simple pleasures that brought her comfort and joy.
Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas G. Nead, Sr., and her sister, Jane Fitzpatrick. She is survived by her three children: son Thomas G. Nead, Jr., and his spouse Cinthia, and their children Derek and Alicia; daughter Amy Flynn, her spouse Robert, her former spouse Steve Lyszyk, and their children Matthew (fiancée Kyra) and Lukas; and son Douglas Nead. She is also survived by her sisters Nancy Knapp and Carol Knieriem. Donna was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Marlboro, New York at a later date.
