Donna M. Macomber (Pacheco), 80, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 10, 2026, after a hard battle with cancer. Donna was born on January 19, 1945, to Roger E. and Doris (Thomas) Macomber (both predeceased).
Born and raised on Cape Cod, she graduated from Barnstable High School before marrying Gilbert M. Pacheco Jr. (predeceased). They lived in New Bedford for a short time, building a family before returning to the Dennis/Yarmouth area of the Cape in 1970. Years later, she would become an independent woman, in both her career and at home as a single mom, before finally finding her soulmate, Michael Cole (predeceased).
She then dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a CNA at EPOCH Assisted Living in Brewster, MA, while always finding time to be there for her children and grandchildren-and faithfully visiting her own mother every Sunday.
With the pandemic closures, Donna decided to leave her decades-old position and retire in 2020. In her final years, she enjoyed walking on the beach with her fur babies, Kane (predeceased) and Roxie, her dogs whom she adored. She most loved her time spent watching sports and playing games with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren-Skylar, Aubrey, Avery, and Cole-remaining steadfast in her love and support for her family.
She will be forever loved and dearly missed by everyone who knew her and whose lives she touched.
Donna is survived by her children, Gilbert M. Pacheco III, Shawn M. Pacheco and wife Brenda, and Melanie S. Pacheco; grandchildren, Megan Pacheco, Steven Pacheco and wife Kate, and Summer Marie Fulcher and husband Jimmy; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Donna also leaves her siblings: Roger (Roddy) Jr. and wife Debbie of Yarmouth; James and wife Patty of Plymouth; Linda of Marstons Mills; and Lisa Gardiner and husband Bob of Wareham; along with several nieces and cousins.
She will be especially missed by her lifelong friend and confidant of 60 years, Darlene Chase of New Bedford.
