Donna Lynn Porter

Mrs. Donna Lynn Castleberry Porter, age 72, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, in Winnfield. Born in Rayville, Louisiana, she was a longtime resident of Winnfield.

Lynn was a retired employee of Walmart, where she worked faithfully for more than 30 years. A devoted member of Faith Baptist Church for 44 years, she was a woman of strong faith and deep devotion. She loved her church family dearly and was known as a true prayer warrior. An avid reader of her Bible, daily devotions, and Christian biographies, Lynn could easily recite scripture from memory and often found comfort and joy in God's Word. She cherished quiet moments in her armchair with a good book and a cup of coffee, reflecting her peaceful and thoughtful spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Burlin Castleberry and Mickey Newell Castleberry, and her sister, Barbara Jo Branch.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Fred Porter of Winnfield; children, Mickey O'Neal, Stephen Porter, and Sarah Hyman and husband Chase; grandchildren, Nicholas, Hannah, Connor, Marianna, Mallie, and Madelyn; great-grandchildren, three and one on the way; and brother, William Castleberry.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Leonard McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery, Tannehill under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
