Donna Sue Blackburn Pratt passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Donna was born in Kentucky and moved to Ohio as a young girl, where she graduated from Midview High School. Donna put herself through college as a single mom, and eventually became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She devoted her entire career to caring for others at The Lutheran Home, now known as Concord Reserve, where she was cherished by co-workers, patients, and their families. She was a kind and giving soul who would help just about anyone. A true social butterfly, she made friends wherever she went. She loved listening to live music, tending to her flowers and plants with her gifted green thumb, and thrifting for rustic treasures.
Donna was preceded in death by her beloved partner of 30 years, Gary Dalton; her sister, Pauline Workman; brothers, Emerson “Lee” Blackburn (Patsy), Darwin “Bo” Blackburn, William “Bill” Blackburn, and Brad Blackburn; brother-in-law, William Allen Workman; and her parents, Herman and Verdie Blackburn.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Melissa Pratt; her son, Jeffrey Pratt; grandchildren, Layla Gentry, Kobe Pratt, Brandon Pratt, Sean Pratt, Eric Pratt, and Rowan Pratt; niece, Debra Skeens (Tim); brothers, Roy “Joe” Blackburn (Evey), Bobby “Bob” Blackburn (Debbie), Glen Blackburn; sister-in-law, Anna Rae Blackburn; and many neices and nephews.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at a later date, to be determined. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Donna’s honor be made to Ohio’s Hospice Lifecare, 1900 Akron Rd, Wooster, Ohio 44691, (Click here to donate on line) in gratitude for the compassionate comfort care they provided during her final days.
