Donna M. (Danzberger) Russell, 69, of St. Thomas, PA passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 in her home. Born October 22, 1951 in Chambersburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Thomas S. Danzberger, Sr. and Phyllis L. (Spiker) Danzberger.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1971. Donna then went onto to obtain her cosmetology license from Head Hunters Cosmetology of Chambersburg. She was employed as a cosmetologist as well as in child care at Magic Years Day Care for five years.
Donna was a member of the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren and American Legion Auxiliary both in Chambersburg. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, reading, collecting antiques, and spending time with her family. She loved to travel especially going on Carnival Cruises.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary L. Russell, Sr. who she married August 14, 1971; two sons, Gary L. Russell, Jr. of St. Thomas and Wade A. Russell of Chambersburg; a grandson, Arron U. Russell; five siblings, James Danzberger (Darla) of St. Thomas, Robert Danzberger (Crissy), Rick Danzberger (Kathy), Loretta Funk (Kirk) all of Chambersburg and Roberta Duvall of Mercersburg, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas S. Danzberger, Jr.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 21, 2021 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Harold Yeager officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service Thursday morning in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Chambersburg Church of the Brethren, 260 S. 4th Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
