Donna Marie Sharples
October 6, 1964 - August 16, 2024
Anyone who knew Donna knows that she was always a force to be reckoned with. She was a beautiful, intelligent, goofy, and incredibly loving person - the best mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and cousin anyone could ever ask for. Donna could always be counted on to be the first one on the dance floor and the last to leave it; the first to hold out her hand to help and the last to let go. She was an avid and passionate baker, and a lover of gardening and the outdoors. Beaches and mountains were some of Donna’s favorite places to be, spending time with her family.
Donna was the sunshine we all rallied behind after days of rain, the flowers that grow in the sidewalk cracks despite the odds, the luck of finding a heads-up dime somewhere unexpected. She was a second mother to every rowdy teenager that had the privilege of walking through her front door, on top of being a coach and mentor to so many more. Donna is a woman who changed every life she touched, and her absence will be felt asmuch as her presence always was.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband Lee; her mother Nancy; her father Thomas; her brother Raymond; and her niece Christina. She is survived by her four daughters; Katelynne, Emilee, Tracee, and MacKenzee; her son-in-laws Richard and Antonio; her two grandchildren Harlee and Aiden; her sister Deborah; and her brothers Tim and Michael. She also leaves behind many more extended family and loved ones. We will never forget the love and light Donna brought into our lives, and we hope that her shine lingers on all who knew and loved her.
An informal service will be held to celebrate Donna’s life on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 4-6pm, at Lowe Funeral Home& Crematory in Burlington, North Carolina.
