Donna Marie Smith, fondly known as MawMaw, was born on February 2, 1961, in Memphis, Tennessee. She left this world peacefully on March 18, 2025, after a long and courageous battle. Donna's life was characterized by her unwavering love for her family, particularly her daughters and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Throughout her life, Donna chose to devote her time fully to nurturing her girls. She was strong-willed and often displayed a stubborn spirit, qualities that endeared her to those who knew her. Laughter filled her home, as she had an innate ability to bring humor to any situation, whether it was through her love for watching Disney movies or the delightful antics of talking in whale from Finding Nemo with Samantha.
Donna shared countless memorable moments with her daughters. She cherished their camping trips together and loved capturing memories in playful photographs with Skylar, often adorned with funny filters. These moments painted a vibrant picture of a mother who was deeply invested in her children's happiness.
Her life was enriched by simple pleasures; she found joy in sitting outside, going to the flea market, and indulging in her favorite Domino's sandwhich. Donna's passions were many, but none compared to the joy she felt in being a mother and grandmother. Her proudest accomplishments were her daughters and her grandbabies, each of whom she cherished deeply.
Donna is survived by her devoted spouse, Milton Smith; her beloved daughters, Samantha (George) Mason and Skylar Smith; and her grandchildren, Daylan Nienaber, Ryder Mason, Reagan Mason, Parker Mason, Sawyer Kate Mason, and Maci Christian. She is also remembered by her loving siblings, Richard (Regina) Tignor, Anita (Billy) Turner, and Jon Tignor, along with her cherished nieces, Jodie Turner and Amanda McCullough, and a host of other family and friends who will forever hold her memory close.
Though Donna's parents, Billy and Frances Tignor, have preceded her in death, the love she fostered in her family will continue to shine brightly. As she embarks on her journey to meet Jesus, she leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Donna was not just a family member; she was a beacon of strength, a source of unconditional love, and a keeper of cherished memories. Her family takes solace in knowing she is now at peace and proud to return to heaven, where she will continue to watch over them with her loving spirit.
