Memorial visitation for Donna M. Tekavec, age 59, will be Friday July 25, 2025, from 2:00 until 4:30 PM at the Jakubs-Waite Funeral Home, 36000, Lakeshore Blvd. Eastlake with a memorial service to follow. Donna was born on February 25, 1966, in Cleveland to Albert and Phyllis (nee Jacobi) DiLauro (both deceased) and she passed away on July 11, 2025.
Her love of cooking filled kitchens with warmth, and her playlist was always spinning with something soulful or upbeat. She found thrills in the roar of a car engine, peace skimming across the water on a boat or jet ski, and pure happiness in the island air of Put-In-Bay. Whether she was behind the wheel, crafting homemade wine or whipping up a family favorite on the stove that wasn't just a kitchen appliance, it was the pride of her home. Donna's heart was always tuned to the needs of others, she had a gentle instinct for checking in, making sure everyone was ok, and she was always there for them.
Donna is the beloved wife of Timothy M. Tekavec, loving sister of Albert (Kitty) DiLauro, Debbie (Dusty) McClintock, Doreen (deceased) Berlin, Denise (Mick) Gill, Diane (Paul Daniels – deceased) DiLauro, Mark (Lisa) DiLauro, proud aunt of Dan DiLauro, Charlie DiLauro, Michael (Freya) Gill, Rachel (Stephen) Kelley, Joe (Lindsey) Corradetti, Carin (Christian) Woolley. Great Aunt of many. She was affectionately known as The Cookie Lady to many pups! Of all the joys Donna embraced, none held her heart quite like her beloved pups, Maddie and Dakota.
