Donna JoAnn Thompson

October 14, 1932 - May 18, 2025

Tacoma, Washington - Donna JoAnn Thompson was born on October 14, 1932 in Unionville, MO. She passed away on May 18, 2025 in Tacoma, WA. She was born to Lester and Marjorie Powell and was the middle of three children with two brothers, Kenneth and Richard. In 1950 she graduated from Grandville High School in Grandview, MO. She moved to the Tacoma area in 1952 with her parents and met the love of her life there, Wendell Thompson. They were married in 1954. Wendell proceeded Donna in death after 57 years of marriage.

Donna was a very supportive wife and mother. She was an active docent at Northwest Trek for many years. During her life she was very adventurous and her love and passion for travel took her to several continents. She once took a canoe trip through the jungle in the Amazon tributaries of Ecuador and Peru.

Donna had four children, Kevin, Kirk, Stan and Joann. She had nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

A celebration of Donna's life will be held at Fir Lane Chapel on June 4th with a viewing at 12 p.m. and the memorial following at 1 p.m.
