Donna Marie Verna

Donna Marie Verna, age 75, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on June 4, 2025.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Augustine and Freddie (Crusetuner) Schreiber.
Donna was known for her sweet and kind demeanor and was a source of warmth for all who knew her. She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan who loved to puzzle, play cards and go to Bingo. Above all else, Donna cherished her family: as a devoted wife to her late husband, John, loving mother to her daughter and son-in-law, and beloved grandmother to her two grandsons. She rarely missed one of their sporting events and religiously picked the boys up from school often taking them for treats on the way home. "Grammy" will be dearly missed.
She will be remembered for always putting her family first. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Zickgraf and her husband, A.J., III; her grandsons, August Joseph Zickgraf IV and Noah John Zickgraf; dear sister to her siblings, Charles Schreiber (Andrea), Patricia Donohue, and Edwina Onorato (Fred). Donna will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and members of her extended family.
In addition to her parents, and husband, John, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janice McQuaid.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 9:30am. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery.
