Donna May Weinfurter, 90, of Aurora passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Marshfield Medical Center - Dickinson. She was born in Iron Mountain on June 25, 1935, daughter of the late Robert and Hazel (Johnson) Hellman. Donna graduated from Kingsford High School in 1953. After graduation she started a long and diverse work history that included positions with Michigan Bell, Dully's Den, Stanley Home Product, and most notably her ownership of Aurora Liquors. On Jan. 23, 1954, Donna was married to Edwin Weinfurter at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aurora. They shared 67 incredible years together before Ed preceded Donna in death on February 16, 2021. Donna enjoyed socializing with friends through many groups and activities. Among her favorites were golfing at Oak Crest, bowling in her women's league, and sitting with her knitting club. She also enjoyed tending her flowers, wintering in Florida or traveling in her motor home, and reading. Donna wasn't known to sugar coat a thing yet her love for family and friends was always apparent. Donna will be deeply missed by her 2 children, Terry (Lori) Weinfurter of Aurora and Jody (Dave) Bigalke of Niagara; daughter-in-law, Michelle (Dean) Carlson of Iron Mountain; 7 grandchildren, Dan (Shara), Katie (Jade), Andrea (Tito), Sarah (Jayme), Adam (Victoria), Amanda (Kaupo), and Ashley (Dan); 15 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Donna is preceded in death by a son, Randy Weinfurter. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Donna's family would like to thank her sister-in-law, Liz, as well as the ICU staff at Marshfield Medical Center - Dickinson for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's name to benefit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences may be expressed to the family of Donna M. Weinfurter online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com. The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home with the arrangements.
