James J. Weinfurter Sr., 75, of the Town of Wood passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack whilst completing his chores the morning of Saturday, September 6, 2025.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be 11:00am on Wednesday, September 10th at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Pittsville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation for relatives and friends will be from 9am until the time of Mass at church. Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Jim was born March 28, 1950 at home in Pittsville to Edward and Mary (Redmond) Weinfurter. He attended school in Pittsville, graduating in 1969. He was the first wrestler from Pittsville High to make it to state. Jim married the former Miss Sally Ann Juedes January 16, 1971 at Sacred Heart Church in Stetsonville, WI. They had just celebrated 54 years together.

Jim was an incredibly talented mechanic and welder. He had worked maintenance for Schwanebeck Trucking and Foremost Farms. Following his retirement he took much enjoyment helping on the day to day at his son's farm driving tractor and fixing equipment. He loved spending time with his sons and grandchildren hunting. He is a past president of the Lil' Bullmobilers Snowmobile Club of Pittsville.

Jim is survived by his wife Sally of Pittsville; sons James "Bart" Weinfurter Jr of Pittsville, Shawn (Stephanie) Weinfurter of Luxemburg, and Chad Weinfurter of Sheboygan. He is further survived by grandchildren: Derek Weinfurter, Samantha (Blaine) Bestul, Derren Weinfurter, Dylan (Maria Esser) Weinfurter, Tori (Michael) Martin, and T.J. Weinfurter.

He is also survived by siblings, Patricia Swiech, John (Liana) Weinfurter, Dorothy Karl, Mary (Greg) Ely, Edward Weinfurter, Eileen (Keith) Prust, Raymond (Ron) Weinfurter, and Diane (Mike) Charneski; sister-in-law Shirley Weinfurter, and brother-in-law John Henseler; and Sally's siblings: Ronnie (Bert) Juedes, Roger (Rita) Juedes, Robert Juedes, Susan Juedes, Russell (Shari) Juedes, Marlene (Bill) Juedes-Goldberg, Patsy (Brian) Fulk, Richard (Karen) Juedes, and Margaret (Greg) Juedes-Lauderdale. Jim is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph Weinfurter, sister Lucy Henseler, and brother-in-law, Bernie Swiech.

The family wishes to extend their heartful appreciation to the Pittsville Fire Department, Marshfield EMS, and the Smazal Families.
