Janet M. Stellmach, 71, Dexterville, passed away on August 2, 2025 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 11, 2025 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Pittsville with visitation from 9:30 am until the time of service. Rev. Leo Raphael will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Janet was born on March 21, 1954 in Thorp to Marion and Selena (Henry) Herman. She graduated from Thorp High School in 1972 and received her nursing degree from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1975. She worked in the OB unit at St. Joseph's Hospital for 37 years – a job she truly enjoyed.

On September 25, 1987, she was united in marriage to Michael Stellmach in Wisconsin Rapids. Together, they owned Peoples Fuel LLC in Wisconsin Rapids for 17 ½ years. She then started and owned Janet's Yarns & Crafts store in Marshfield for 8 years – fulfilling a lifelong desire to do so.

Janet loved her family, friends, and God. She was the youth religious education director at St. Joachim Church for a number of years. She enjoyed going to Brewers and Packers games and watching them on TV. Through the years she enjoyed participating in bowling and pool leagues. She loved walks in the park, traveling, and her greatest thrill was knitting, crocheting, and making gifts.

Janet really loved her home and often remarked how lucky her and Mike were to have it. She also liked trips to The Highground where her family had placed an honor stone for her dad's military service during World War II.

She is survived by her husband, Mike, children, Kelly (Tony) Stacy of Clarksville, TN, Michael M. Stellmach of Marshfield, and Mindy Schmidt of Spencer, grandchildren, Kimberly Stellmach, Alexis Cain, and Levi Stacy, all of Clarksville, TN, and great grandchild, Ezra.

She is further survived by her brothers, Robert (Sandy) Herman of Cedarburg and Larry (Pam) Herman of Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the compassionate health care workers at Compassus in Home Hospice Care.

She will be greatly missed.

From a blind date to being "my whole world." I will always love you.
