Donna Werner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Memorial Chapel on Oct. 1, 2024.
Donna Jean (Budrid) Werner, born July 20th, 1939, in Bloomington, IL, passed away on September 22, 2024. Her life was a radiant testament to compassion, family, faith and an enthusiastic embrace of life's many joys and challenges.
Raised on a farm in Minonk, IL, she was a city girl at heart. Donna moved to Chicago to attend the St. Francis School of Radiography after graduating high school in 1957. She flourished as an X-ray technician, medical office manager, and later in life a real estate broker.
Donna's greatest joy was her family, where she held the role of a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She shared her life with her beloved husband, David, daughters Beth and Jenny (Jerry), sister Denise, eight stepchildren; Colleen (Joe), Dan (Jessica), Dawn, Lisa, Scott (Laura), Jeff (Heather), Tim (Cody), Jen (Brad), twenty-two grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, four nieces, a nephew, and her loyal dog, Moki.
Time spent with family was filled with endless laughter, stories, and love-moments that will be treasured forever. Donna enjoyed traveling, entertaining, drinking a nice glass of Italian wine, reading mystery novels, and watching a good Lifetime movie.
Those who knew Donna will remember her for the qualities that made her truly special-her kindness, her wit, her generosity, her sparkle, and her unwavering love. She made everyone around her feel valued, understood, and cherished.
Donna's story does not end with her passing, for her legacy continues to light the way forward.
A Memorial Visitation for Donna will be held at St. Patrick Church (420 E. 6th Street, Minonk, IL 61760) on Saturday, October 5th from 10 AM until the time of Mass at 11 AM.
