Donna Weter, age 67 of Chadwick, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 on her short stay at Ozark Nursing and Care Center. Donna had struggled with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis for more than a year before joining the Good Lord. She was born on February 5, 1955, the daughter of Mike and Georgia (Barnes) Weter.

Donna was a proud teacher, coming from a family of teachers and spent her career in Springfield Public Schools, teaching at Portland Elementary School and Parkview High School, both of which she attended as a girl. Through her career she left a lasting mark on the people of Springfield. Donna was a Christian from a young age and was a member of the Church of Christ all of her life, in her last years she was a member of Union Hill Church of Christ in Nixa, Missouri. She led an active life, loved spending time outdoors, gardening, tending to her many beloved flowers, feeding large populations of humming birds, building things, cooking for her family and especially loved baking cookies with her grandchildren. She loved animals and could always be found with one of her dogs at hand. Her wheel barrow and her Bible were well worn.

Donna is survived by her son, Christopher Willis and wife, Kayla; grandchildren Brinley, Emmett and Blair; son, Clayton Willis and wife, Kathy; brother, Michael Weter and wife, Heather; stepmother, Sharon Weter; several lifetime special friends and many other friends and relatives. Donna was preceded in death by her parents.

In honor of Donna's expressed wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. Arrangements under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri.
