Donna Hall Wise, 82 of Medfield died at home, with her husband at her side, April 20, 2025 following a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Born June 11, 1942 in Boston, MA she was the eldest daughter of the late Charles Walker Hall and Sylvia Russell Hall of Needham, MA. Afflicted with Childhood Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of one she showed her own grit by never giving up. As a young girl she began reading about autoimmune diseases and became very knowledgeable regarding them, the necessity of maintaining one's weight and flexibility; throughout her life she maintained her own regiment of exercise constantly causing those in the medical community to comment in amazement and positively on her condition.
She resided all of her youthful years in Needham MA, was educated in Needham schools graduating from Needham High in 1960. She then attended Fisher College, in Boston, MA graduating in 1962 with a specialized degree as an Electronic Secretary.
Following graduation from college she was employed by Norton Polaroid. After the birth of her first son she took a position with Olsten Temporary Services providing periodic executive secretarial services. Her final assignment was with Hearst Business Services, Electronic Information Magazine (EIM) where her electronic terminology background served her well. She remained there for sixteen years until the office was closed and she retired.
She married the love of her life Frederick R. L. Wise, Jr., seven (7) years to the day they met, on October 26th 1962. They took an apartment on Spring Street in Medfield where they resided for three years and her first son was born, before moving to Walpole. They purchased land in Medfield cleared it and built their home, returning to Medfield in 1971.
She was the Mother of the late Frederick R. L. Wise III and leaves her husband Frederick R. L. Wise, Jr. of 63 years, her son Foster Oakes Wise, daughter in Law Petra (Gianopoulos) Wise, grandson Brandon Christopher Wise, granddaughters Quinn Rose-Caroline Wise, Harper Marie Wise all of N. Attleboro, MA. and Sister Rosalinda Hall Meyers of Cooper City, FL.
She liked being in the out of doors, enjoyed hiking and skiing as a young woman, loved classical music, dancing, gardening of all kinds and was an avid reader of a variety of authors and subjects. A petite and practical woman she was very capable of solving mechanical and electrical problems in her own way, as a result she would often say she didn't need a handy man she needed a man handy.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the Robert's Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home
15 Miller St. Medfield, MA on April 24th from 4 to 7PM
Following cremation, her remains will be interned in the family plot at Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield
