A part of our hearts and souls left us today
Donna M Woodbury: Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin passed away June 1st, at the age of 69, surrounded by her family. She was born October 8th, 1955 in Rutland and was the daughter of Hollis Bowen and Sandra Sule Bacon.
Donna grew up in Benson and graduated from Fair Haven High School in1973. Many years later she pursued a degree in accounting at Castleton State College graduating with honors in 2003.
Donna resided in Castleton with her husband James E Woodbury Sr. who she married on May 22, 1992.
For the last 18 years Donna provided childcare for her grandchildren. She was also a self-employed newspaper route driver for the Rutland Herald for more than 20 years, most recently in the Fair Haven/Castleton area retiring in September 2024.
Donna's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and canning with her daughters.
She is survived by her husband Jim of Castleton; daughters Dawn Hay of Rutland and Wendy Ellis, husband Bob of Whitehall, NY; sons James Brisson, wife Angel of Poultney, Billy Hay, wife Jocelyn of Bennington, Eric Hay of Oley, PA and James Woodbury Jr. of North Clarendon; sisters Deborah Shaw, husband Dave, Diane Warren, husband David, Denise Lesiak, husband Leo, Tabatha Bowen and Tiffany Bowen; brothers Gordon Crandall, wife Cathi, Keith Crandall, wife Cindy; stepsisters Bonnie Donato, Drea Root and Robin Rodolfo; 21 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter plus many nieces/nephews.
She is predeceased by her daughter Jamie Lynn Hay (1980), son Paul Woodbury (2011) and 2 brothers Christopher Crandall and Thomas Dodd.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donna will be laid to rest at a later date next to her daughter Jamie Lynn.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Durfee Funeral Home.
