Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd ChapelDonnette Jennifer Johnson, 59, of Bridgman passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
Jennifer was born on June 21, 1966 in St. Joseph, Michigan, the daughter of the late Devon and Charlotte (Drone) Johnson. Jenny spent most of her life in Michigan, the place she always considered home. She also made a life for herself in Arizona for many years. Jenny worked in health care, as a home health aide and in medical billing. When her sister needed support, Jenny happily returned to Michigan and devoted herself to her care. She poured that same love into her animals. She was “mom” to a lively family of seven chihuahuas, a gentle mastiff mix, and several cats who adored her. She also found lasting support and joy in her lifelong childhood friendships, relationships she deeply cherished.
Jennifer is survived by her brother, Tim (Dona) Johnson; many nieces and nephews: Jessica (Adam) Anderson, Shawn Johnson, Sarah (Brent) Bedau, Seth (Julie) Piller, Zachariah Piller, Rachel Irish, Ezra (Liza) Piller, DJ (Jordan) McDowell, Kellie (Bryan) Johnson; several great nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Jennifer was also preceded in death by her brother, Devon “Jeff” Johnson and beloved sister, Teresa "Sis" Piller.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 25, 2026 from 1-3 PM at Harbert Community Church, 6444 Harbert Rd., Sawyer, MI 49125. Family and friends will have the opportunity to remember the lives of both Jenny and her late sister, Teresa 'Sis' Piller. A light lunch and beverages will be provided. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com. To honor Jenny’s love of animals, the family welcomes donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Berrien County Animal Services, 1400 S. Euclid Avenue, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.
