Our son, Donnie Thomas Boykin, Jr., was born on November 9, 1977, and passed away unexpectedly at work on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery. Rev. Ray Wells will officiate.
The Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Donnie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jesse and Teal Emory; paternal grandparents, Thelbert and Clarice Boykin and his cousin, Autry Lamm.
Donnie is survived by his father, Donnie, Sr. and his mother, Karen Emory Boykin; sister, Amanda Boykin Daniel and husband, Douglas Daniel; nieces, Georgia and Belle Daniel; nephew, Grady Daniel and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Donnie was a collector, he collected history books, comic books, movies and all kinds of Star Wars. He graduated from Hunt High School in 1996. He worked in Wilson since he was sixteen years old. Donnie always had a smile on his face, was a gentle soul and was the happiest when he was helping people. Donnie loved his Harris Teeter family and was loyal to them and the customers. His customers loved that he walked them to their cars, stopped what he was doing to help them or just to say hello.
Flowers are welcome or memorials to Buckhorn United Methodist Church, 8102 Hwy 42 N, Kenly, North Carolina 27542.
