Donnie Dale McDonald drew his last breath at 4:00 PM, Thursday May 22, 2025 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, surrounded by his loved ones.
Donnie was born to Steve and Mary McDonald on March 11, 1976 in Iola Kansas. It was soon realized that Donnie was exceptional and had special needs. Donnie was forever young and spent the rest of his life loving his favorite things like school (his job) and his game shows, like the "The Price is Right" and "Family Feud," to name a few. He loved the KC Chiefs, Denver Broncos, and Alanis Morissette. Donnie lived in a Sheltered Living group home in Topeka with his best friends and while he loved to visit the family farm, he loved his home and those he shared it with. Donnie touched the lives of so many people during his 49 years and his influence shaped perceptions that affected special needs individuals everywhere. Donnie made this world better to be in, by just being in it. He will be deeply missed by everyone he knew and loved.
Donnie is survived by his mother Mary (Rosacker) McDonald; his eldest sister, Joy (McDonald) Watson; Joy's children, Maliah, EJ, and Miah Watson; his younger sister, Wendy (McDonald) Froggatte and husband Jared Froggatte; and their children, Nina (Froggatte) Houk, Hannah, Joseph, and Nate Froggatte. He is survived by many more beloved extended family members and friends.
Donnie is preceded in death by his father, Steven McDonald; brother in law, Earl Watson; and his nephew, Jedd Froggatte.
