Donnie Edward Thorne, known as “Red Dog”, to family and friends, age 56 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 27, 2025, at his residence. Born on May 3, 1969, in Petersburg, he was the son of Eva Jean Whetzel Thorne of Baker, WV and the late David Paul Thorne.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his children, Donnie E. Thorne, Jr and Grace L. Thorne; his brother, Jimmy P. Thorne of Moorefield, WV and a sister, Debra Jean Thorne of Morgantown, WV, along with numerous friends.
Red Dog has been cremated, and a service will be held at a later date.
