Donnie Lee "Don" Weir, died Friday, August 29, at his home. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Clyde and Betty Blevins Weir. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Diane Cranfield.

Don graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College with a B.S. degree in Microbiology and Chemistry. He retired from M&M Mars after 30 years of service as a food scientist.

Don attended North Cleveland Church of God where he was active in the Boy Scout Troop. He also enjoyed going to the shooting range and being outdoors deer hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years: Janice Faye Thompson Weir

Daughters: Tonya Howard (Chris) and Rebecca Weir

Son: Adonis Addams Weir

Grandchildren: Torin Howard, Logan Howard, Eli Howard and Nia Howard.

Niece: Brooke Pannell and husband, Aaron

Nephew: Brent Cranfield and wife Emily

Along with several other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Ziegler Funeral Home.
