Donovan Lee White, age 87, of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025. Born on December 20, 1937, in Newellton, Louisiana, Donovan lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and generosity toward others. He retired from The Advocate after 30 years of dedicated service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Vera White; his brothers, Jack, Durwood, and Wayne White; his sister, Patsy Priest; and his stepson, Timothy Kuyrkendall.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Erna White; his children, Phyllis Tesch (Bill), Donovan White, Jr., JoAnn Gremillion (Mike), and Robin White (Gina); his stepdaughter, Keippi Bain (Pete); and his daughter-in-law, Charlene Kuyrkendall, widow of his late stepson, Timothy Kuyrkendall. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Ascension Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park in Prairieville.
